Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation vs Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

I wanted to do a comparison post on these two foundations because I really can see similarities between them. Not to mention that for most of 2016 I was in love with the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation and now I am just as obsessed with the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. So let’s get into this comparison post…

First, as normal on my comparison blog posts I want to mention the amount of product that you get in both of these foundations. With the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation you get 22ml of product. In the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation, you get 30ml of foundation. 30ml is the standard amount of product that you would normally get in a foundation. Even though the Marc Jacobs one is only 8ml short of the norm, it does make a big difference.

Now onto the packaging. Both of these foundations come in nice frosted glass bottles. I really like that look on a foundation because it just makes it look high end and expensive. I would say when you look at both of these foundations head on that the Estee Lauder Double Wear does look more impressive. With the gold screw on top it just looks more luxurious than the black plastic top on the Marc Jacobs Foundation.

Next I want to talk about how these foundations are dispensed. The Marc Jacobs has a screw top and then attached to the lid is a spatula of types that you can then dispense the product directly onto your face using or onto the back of your hand. It isn’t the most hygienic thing because you put it back into the bottle, so any bacteria will then be in the foundation. The Estee Lauder Double wear has a screw on lid, but then you just pour the foundation out which isn’t a winner for me because I always find that you waste product this way. The MAC pump that you can get for the Studio Fix Fluid does fit into this foundation but it does make it look less attractive, plus it’s an additional cost!

Now for the consistency of these products. For this I poured some of both of these foundations out onto the back of my hand next to each other. I would say that for consistency they are both pretty similar. They are both on the thicker side but if you were to tilt your hand it would run off. I would say that the Estee Lauder is the slightly thicker of the two.

Coverage is next on the list. Anybody who knows me knows that I am all about that full coverage look. The Marc Jacobs is intense coverage. Literally if you apply too much of this stuff it just drowns out all of your features and you end up looking like a 2-dimensionsal shape. Obviously if you apply with a light hand and blend it out with a buffing brush you get a nice full coverage look that isn’t too much. With the Estee Lauder foundation, I think you get a great coverage straight off the back. I buff it into the skin using a Morphe blending brush and then I build the coverage up just in the places that I need to.

Next I want to talk about how these foundations feel on the skin. I have to say when I apply the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation initially it does feel a little oily. It isn’t anything drastic and it can’t be too bad or throughout the day I would turn into an oily mess, it is just an initial feeling. The Estee Lauder Double Wear just feels nice and creamy. It just feels like a normal foundation.

The last point that I want to mention is the price. I get the Marc Jacobs foundation from Harrods and it is £37. Which is a lot of money and I’m not trying to deny that but for a high end foundation it isn’t that bad. But, when you think that you only get 22ml of product against the 30ml which is standard. But then you have to think about the level of pigmentation that the product has, it does go further. The Estee Lauder Double Wear is normally around £31, and then for the pump to go with it is around another £5. So around £36 in all for everything if you want the pump.

If I had to choose a winner between these two foundations I think at the minute, I would hover more towards the Estee Lauder Double Wear. Every time I put this on recently it just looks flawless every single time. But, then I bet if you asked me again next week it would have switched over. I just really like these foundations for separate reasons and for me they are both winners.

If you want to check any of these foundations out to take a look or learn more I will leave links below to where you can find them. If you have any comments or questions, please leave them in the box below and I will get right back to you!
