What I Got For Christmas

I cannot believe that we are in January already. Christmas this year was pretty bittersweet for me. I lost some people last year who I love so much and not to mention my puppy dog, so Christmas was a little hard without them with me. But, it was still a special time with my family.

So, this blog post is all about what I got for Christmas. I always find as I get older the presents seem to be a little more practical than fun. And not to mention vast majority of the time, I know what I am getting because I will have asked for it specifically (I just like to try and make other people’s lives easier).
Without any more rambling, I will just jump into this post…

1)                Puppy

My little baby is of course number one because she is the best present ever. As you may know from my other posts my dog of 13 years got put to sleep last August. To say that I was heartbroken is a vast understatement. Even now I don’t think I am over it, I don’t think I ever will be.

I spoke to my family about getting a dog for a long time but didn’t really look into it too much because I was too nervous that it was too soon after losing Mika. But, my darling mum bought this amazing little thing for me. She is a Golden Retriever and I am in love with her. Her name is Martha and I can see her featuring a lot here on my blog.

She is a little sweetheart who loves cuddles and attention which suits me fine because I’m obsessed with her. She is at the point at the minute where she is crying in the night and I cave and end up downstairs in her bed with her. I am too soft, but I’m obsessed!

2)             Chest of Drawers

This probably sounds like such a grown up thing but it is true. Me and my boyfriend didn’t know what to get each other and we are looking at houses and have just looked a holiday to Florence and Rome so we just thought we would buy each other something that we actually needed. So, we bought each other some drawers which sounds dull but I love them. They are so much better than our old ones and I am obsessed!

3)             Toiletries

I don’t think that it would be Christmas without getting a crazy amount of toiletries. Honestly the stockpile that I get at Christmas ties me by until the next Christmas when I know I am going to get some more. Never in my life have I had to buy a body scrub because I get that many at Christmas time. I love it, especially the Soap & Glory gift sets!

4)             Makeup

Been a beauty blogger I get an influx of makeup at Christmas time. It is just something easy that people can get me because they know that I will love it. I always get eyeshadow palettes and anything new in the contouring world, people know me so very well!

5)             Money

I think this goes without saying for people of a similar age to me but when it comes to Christmas I tend to just get money off my relatives. I always feel too cheeky to tell close friends and my broader family what I actually want because you obviously never know how much they want to spend, so I just tend to get money. Which is always very well received!

That is it really. This post is probably really underwhelming to most people, but I just think as you get older the number of presents seems to dwindle. Not that I am complaining, I love everything that I got and am really happy with every, especially the puppy!

I will keep you updated on my little Martha and let you know how she is getting on with some regular Pupdates, and if you follow me on Instagram you will know for a fact that you are going to get puppy spam!

Anyway, make sure to leave me a comment below and let me know what you think about this post and tell me what you got for Christmas!

  5. I'm so sorry about your dog *hugs*. I was in your boat not too long ago. Because we moved recently and weren't allowed any pets at the new house; we had to hand out 5 month old Rotti back to her previous owners. I was very devastated because I never got say my goodbyes. Love this little pup x
