Cindy Crawford Makeup Tutorial

I don't think that anybody can deny that Cindy Crawford is just an absolute babe. I have always admired this woman, when I was a little girl I would sit on my mums keep and she would be reading Vogue and Cindy would be on the front of it and I would be in absolute awe of her.

Even now as a 50-year-old woman with two children she is such an inspiration as to how I want to look when I am that age!

I want to give you some simple pointers on how you can get the Cindy Crawford look. I'm not saying that by using these ideas you are going to look like her but it is just simple steps to achieve the similar kind of look that she does.

As you can see from all her pictures that she looks stunning. Even though a lot of makeup is applied for catwalks and photoshoots she has even admitted that she has good genes which means she has nice clear skin.

For me I would use a nice full coverage foundation that is really lightweight on the skin, the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation would be the ideal choice for this. Then for blemish concealing and adding more coverage I would use a concealer such as the MAC Studio Fix Fluid. This way I can be precise where I add the product so that the face doesn’t end up cakey.

Then to brighten the under eyes I would use a creamy concealer such as the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I wouldn’t go too light under the eyes because looking at Cindy’s photos she didn't have a dramatic under eye highlight. Then I would set the under eyes using a power such as the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder. Then for the rest of the face I would use the RCMA No Colour Powder just to make the matte because Cindy wasn't known for having a dewy face.

To bronze up the face I like to take the Benefit Hoola Bronzer on a large Tom Ford Bronzer Brush and give the whole face a light dusting. This gives a nice sun kissed look without being overly dark or shimmery. Then to sculpt the face I like to use the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek and Sculpt brush paired with the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. By taking the dark shade I just take this under the cheekbones and along the jawline.

Then just on the apples of the cheek I would go in with a flesh tone neutral blush. The Too Faced Amazonian Clay Blush in Seduce is perfect colour for the Cindy Crawford Look. That is the base complete for this look.

Now moving onto the brows… Back in the day Cindy had a strong brow, a little like the Cara Delavigne of the day, especially when in the 90s thin eyebrows were all the fashion. Cindy Crawford’s eyebrows now are more thin but I am a huge fan of the 90s brow that she used to rock. To get the look I would use something rich in colour such as the Anastasia Brow Pomade, but obviously get a tone to match your colouring. Then I would just follow the natural shape of your brows but just ever so slightly fill them out a little more.

Onto the eyes. In a lot of Cindy’s photoshoots from Vogue and the like she rocked a brown smokey eye but it was never over the top. The shadow was visible both on the eyelid and lower lash line but it was always very subtle.

So on the eyelid I am going to prime using my MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. Then over the top of that I am going to use my MAC Eyeshadow in Brun on the eyelid. I am not going to go any higher than the crease with this shade. Then I am going to take a lighter shade such as Cork into the crease on a big fluffy brush to gently blend this out. To line the eye, I am going to take my MAC Teddy Eyeliner Pencil and give it a slight wing but nothing over the top. Then on the lower lash line take the same pencil and then buff out using a pencil brush.

Then just use a thick black mascara to coat both the top and bottom lashes, my favourite for a dramatic look is the YSL Shocking Mascara. Once that is on and dried I would go in with some individual lashes. I wouldn’t personally go overboard with these because she never looked like she had heavy lashes they just looked perfected. Then that is the eyes finished.

For the final step I am moving onto the lips. In the 90’s Cindy Crawford was known for her love of one lip product in particular and that was the MAC Lip Liner in Spice. This is a stunning brown colour. To me this is a perfect everyday colour because of my complexion. Then for a lipstick over the top Charlotte Tilbury has made it really easy. In her latest Hot Lips collection, she released a colour called Super Cindy and it is the perfect mauve brown colour that she was famous for wearing.

That is, it for my little post on how to get the look. If you want to know anything else just let me know in the comments below or drop me an email. I will link below to all of the products I have mentioned.
