The Makeup I'm Using In Berlin

As you may or may not know, I am currently in Berlin, Germany. We have been wanting to come here for such a long time because people have been telling us how much we would love it. I cannot believe that we have only just got around to trying it.

For me it is the history that is associated with it and for my boyfriend it is the German beer!

Anyway, blogging is banned on holiday and breaks away, a rule created by my boyfriend. So the posts that you will see this week have been queued, except for this one. I thought I would sneak on while he is still asleep, that not cheating right?

Anyway, I wanted to do a post about the makeup that I have been wearing while I have been here. It is cold and some days pretty wet and we are just walking for miles on end, so I needed long lasting makeup that could survive harsh weather. So without further rambling and before my boyfriend wakes up, I will jump into it…

1)     Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream

When I first woke up this morning I went into the bathroom and applied a generous amount of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. I love this moisturiser because it helps my skin stay nice and hydrated all day but doesn’t affect my oily skin. It will also make sure my skin doesn’t go tight while walking around in the cold air all day!

2)    Makeup Forever Step 1 Primer

Once I have allowed time for my moisturiser to soak into the skin I then went in with the Makeup Forever Step 1 Primer. I love this in the mattifying version because it smooths out my pores and really does help control the oils around my nose which is where I really do suffer with my oil.

3)    MAC Studio Fix Concealer

To conceal my darkness before I went in with foundation I used some of the MAC Studio Fix Concealer under my eyes. I like to take a spatula and apply some of this onto the back of my hand. Then using my ring finger, I will warm up the product and then dab it onto the area, then I blend it out using the MAC 217 brush.

4)    Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

While I am here in Germany we are going to be taking lots of pictures so I want my skin to look 100% perfected. There is only one foundation for that and that is the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation. Just a small amount of this goes a really long way. I love love love this foundation!

5)   Urban Decay Naked Weightless Concealer

For my concealer there is only this one that I reach for on a daily basis. This is so smooth to apply and blends away like a dream. Not to mention that it is highly pigmented and has great coverage so great for hiding the hangover that I am currently suffering from!

6)    Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Chestnut

To contour the face, I have used my Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in the shade Chestnut. I use this straight from the tube and I just draw lines under the cheekbones, around the forehead, under the jawline and finally ever so lightly dab it down the sides of the nose.

7)   Chanel Cream Bronzer

Next to blend out my cream contour I like to take my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and swirl it into my Chanel Cream Bronzer than I start to blend out the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick. This just acts as a really good blending medium and makes everything really seamless.

8)    Laura Mercier Translucent Powder

To set the face into place I used my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. This stuff is great because it does set the face in place all day long and I have found that it is good at surviving all weather so it should hold up well throughout all of the walking!

9)    MAC Sculpting Powder in Shadster

To add colour back to the face because the Laura Mercier I find can wash me out even with the cream contour on, I will go in with a light wash of the MAC Sculpting Powder in the shade Shadster. I take this on my Real Techniques Blush Brush and just blend it into the outer parameters of the face and along the cheekbones.

10) MAC Eyeshadows in All That Glitters & Soft Brown

For eyeshadow I just kept it really basic and simple. I applied a light wash of the MAC shade All That Glitters all over the eyelid and then I took the MAC shade Soft Brown in the crease using a MAC 217 brush. Then on a small pencil brush I will take the same Soft Brown shade and blend it into the lower lash line.

11) Seventeen High Drama Eyeliner

When all eyeshadow is in place I then went in with my Seventeen High Drama Eyeliner. I love this stuff because it is jet black and it stays in place all day long. And for the price, I am pretty sure this only about £3.99, you cannot get better anywhere else!

12) Maybelline Colossal Mascara

For my lashes I have on my old reliable mascara which is the Maybelline Colossal Mascara. I have been using this for years now and it is amazing. I have been using the waterproof version while I have been here to avoid me looking like a panda bear walking around in the rain!

13) Anastasia Brow Powder

To fill in the bulk of my brow I like to use the Anastasia Brow Powder. I took this powder on my Illamasqua Brow Brush and I just map out the shape of my brows and then lightly fill the whole area in. I also love that this product is multi-tonal because it gives you a great shade for the inner and outer portion of your eyebrows.

14) Anastasia Brow Pomade

For the tail of my eyebrow I used my Anastasia Brow Pomade. I take some of this on my angled brush and I just fill in the tail of my eyebrows where I want the brow to be stronger. I use small hair stroke motions to give it a nice and feathered look rather than just a block of colour.

15) Anastasia Brow Wiz

Then for the front portion of my eyebrows I took my Anastasia Brow Wiz and just did small hair like motions. I prefer doing this over using my powder or pomade here because it gives a softer and more natural look.

16) Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows

To set the brows in place I used my Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows. Since I first bought this I have been looked on it. I love to use this in the front portion of my brow to give it a really natural, fluffy and full look.

17) Ardell Wispie Lashes

For lashes I just have on my Ardell Wispie lashes. I love these because they are natural looking and great for just a day of walking around. I have learnt my lesson after wearing my Huda Beauty lashes and getting them ruined in the rain. I would rather waste my £3 lashes over £25!

18) Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer

Next to bronze up the skin and add another dimension to the skin I have used the Makeup Forever Pro Bronze Fusion. I love this because it is it just gives the skin a healthy glow and makes the skin look a little more 3-dimensional which is what I need after all the face powder.

19) MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NW58

To contour my face, I have used my MAC Studio Fix Powder foundation in a deeper shade. I love this powder for contouring because it is nice and smooth to glide on the skin and it also has a high coverage so that it doesn’t displace any product below and show anything. Also, when this is paired with the Charlotte Tilbury Powder & Sculpt brush it is a dream combination.

20) MAC Lipliner in Spice

Then to line and define the lips I have on the love of my life lip liner which is the MAC lip liner in the shade Spice. My obsession began with this when I learnt that it was what Cindy Crawford used in the nineties. If she used it, I love it automatically.

21) MAC Lipstick in Velvet Teddy

To finish the whole look, I applied my all-time favourite lipstick which is the MAC lipstick in Velvet Teddy. This is such a cult classic and I love it just because its adds another colour and some moisture to the lips.

So that is the makeup that I am going to be using and abusing while I am here in Germany. When I will get home I will be writing a post all about my adventures here in Berlin, so make sure to keep an eye out for that one!

Links to all products are above. I hope you enjoyed this post, and I better clock off now before my boyfriend wakes up and catches me in the act! Haha
