Max Factor English Rose Lipstick Review

I am always on the hunt for the perfect natural looking lipstick, you know what I’m going to say, the ‘Your Lips but Better’.  I never used to wear lipstick but now I hate having naked lips but I have to be very careful with what I put on them because they are incredibly dry and chapped. So for me wearing lipstick or a liquid lipstick on a daily basis is not an option. I need something nourishing.

Everybody who knows me and my family always say I look nothing like my family members and poles apart from what my mum and dad look like. My sister loved this when we was growing up because oddly enough she looks like the perfect blend of them both, she used to tell me I was adopted on a daily basis.

However, the one thing that ties me to my dad is out lips. We have big lips. And something else I inherited from him was how chapped they are. Its amusing getting in mine or my dad’s car, every little compartment has some form of Chap Stick or lip butter in.

So, when I found this lipstick I thought it may be the perfect shade. Max Factor have always been a very reputable brand so you know that it is going to be a good product,

For me though this colour just didn’t work well. It looks great in the bullet, but when I applied it to my lips it just didn’t look right. My lips are also pretty dark in colour so for me a natural look it is normally a berry colour, which is how this looked.

On the lips though it looked almost metallic, which I don’t like, I like a complete colour, and I’m not a glitter or sparkle fan. But for lighter skin tones I think this would look absolutely amazing. For a night out it would make the lips look beautiful and pouty.

The consistency of this product I thought was lovely though. Despite the colour this felt so smooth on my lips, from the bullet it glided on. It almost felt like a balm because it was that soft. I do think this lipstick is lovely and it is only through my own error that I got the wrong shade, but on a lighter skin tone or somebody that likes sparkle, this is great.
