Products I Used On Holiday

As you may have seen from my last blog post but I am not long back from my summer holiday. I always try to go on a sunny holiday in June and then again in October. But with money and work, it isn’t always the case.  Luckily, this year, everything has gone as planned.

I thought I would do a short blog post on the products that I loved while I was away. I can’t be the only person whose hair and skin is completely different in a hot and humid environment. Below are all of the products that I used religiously every day and the reason why I loved them….

Batiste Dry Shampoo

As many of you know from my other posts but I have hair like Hagrid from Harry Potter. It is long, thick and in hot weather, extremely curly. So when I am away I try with all my might not to get it wet so I don’t have to blow dry it and attempt to style it in 30 degrees’ heat. By spraying some of this at the roots of my hair, it stops it from looking greasy and just helps to keep it smelling nice and fresh.

Hawaiian Tropic Sun Oil

I am the biggest advocate for looking after skin. When I am abroad I always smother myself in SPF. You only have one skin, so you need to look after it because it is the largest organ in your body. Anyway, I used so much of this stuff it is untrue. I always find that when I am the heat my skin dries out so much and that is when you burn. By using an oil with SPF it keeps the skin hydrated to turn the skin a nice deep shade without going red and peeling. For me personally, this stuff really works!

Chanel No5

I know this is in nearly every single favourite post but it is my signature scent. I love this so much, I am probably on my 50th bottle and I know that I will never got bored of it. I don’t like to wear it constantly because I don’t want the novelty to wear off so I wore this all the holiday and it just sits so well. This for me is my holiday scent, winter scent, summer scent and rainy day scent. Anybody who reads my posts know this is my go to, so there is no surprise that it is mentioned on here.

Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

I don’t wear makeup at all during the day on holiday because I want to naturally catch the sun on my face. But for when I did want some foundation on I grabbed this. This is the only foundation that I took with me because the coverage can be built up, and if I just wanted a little complexion evening I would mix a small amount with my moisturiser and I would be good to go.

Soap and Glory Body Butter

As we all know after a day in the sun and once you have showered all the sun cream off you need to moisturise the skin and lock in the tan. For this I use the Soap and Glory Body Butter. There is no need to go out and buy an after sun. They don’t really do any different to a moisturiser, but I would suggest after sun if you are prone to burning. Personally, I just go a deep brown so I then layer myself in this Soap and Glory Body Butter and I am good to go!

Maybelline Waterproof Mascara

A waterproof mascara is a must for me on holiday, Like I said before I don’t wear makeup during the day but I will tend to apply a very light amount of mascara. Without mascara I look like a little boy so I need to help myself along a little bit. This stuff is only cheap but it does the job perfectly, as long as it makes my lashes long and black I don’t care what brand or how much it cost.

Wide Tooth Comb

Like I said before I have Hagrid hair. So, when it does get wet I need to comb through it to make sure I don’t get too much of an afro. The good thing about this comb is that it is small enough and slim enough just to put in my beach bag before I leave my room. If I don’t have this on me I just feel lost. This is a comb that I got in my professional kit when I was doing my bridal hair course. This set was really expensive, but you can pick them up on Boots or on Amazon for next to nothing.

OPI Big Apple Red

This isn’t something that I used on holiday but I did use it before. Red is just a holiday colour for nails. I always go red on my hands and feet. It makes dark tanned skin really pop. I put this on the night before I went and it didn’t budge the whole holiday even though I was in and out of the sea and constantly jumping in the pool.

Garnier Deodorant

Obviously when you are hot and sweaty on holiday you need to make sure you are smelling good. This stuff smells lovely and even hours after you apply it you can smell it and how nice it is.

Nivea Lip Balm

For me personally, on holiday my lips get really dry and chapped. I apply this stuff like a mad woman. I went through 2 tubes of this on holiday. You need to make sure they are hydrated and plump so they don’t split. This Nivea is super soft on the lips and just glides on really nice. I highly recommend this to anybody who has chapped or dry lips like me.

That is it for the products that I used on holiday. As normal I would love to hear from you all either by email or in the comments and I will get back to you.
