Top 10 Looks From The Met Gala 2016

Well it is that time of year again for the Met Gala. The one time of year when all fashion icons, musicians, models and so many more get together for one night full of nothing but pure fashion. As you may have guessed I haven’t been invited to it yet… but, maybe one day guys!

This year’s theme had a futuristic feature. Which made the evening see a lot of metallic, silver, slicked back hair and cut-out details throughout the evening. I have listed here my top 10 favourite looks from the night.

1)             BeyoncĂ©

Beyoncé wore a dress by Givenchy. It was a latex flesh coloured dress with over accentuated shoulders and a fishtail bottom. The dress featured from a cherry blossom pattern and pearl embellishments. Her hair was worn straight and down her back. With a really dark smokey eye.

2)             Blake Lively

Blake wore a Burberry gown. It was a blush pink evening gown. The top of the dress had cross over detail on the bustier. The back of the dress had a cape like attachment that flowed out. Perspex leaves were then added down the dress and at the top.

3)             Emma Watson

Emma always just looks stunning in my opinion. She was wearing a Calvin Klein two piece. The top half was an off the shoulder bustier top. On the bottom was a pair of black trousers with a long cape detail at the back. Emma hair was worn in a vintage inspired up do.

4)             Kate Upton

This dress just seemed timeless in amongst all of the crazy outfits. Kate wore a Topshop dress. It was a long asymmetrical dress with a silver metallic texture. With a gold clutch and gold shoes she did ring true to the theme of the evening. Her hair was worn in loose curls to one side of her face.

5)             Kendall Jenner

Wearing Versace Kendall looked every inch the super model. With extreme cut out details around the waist leaving an almost completely bare back. The colouring of the dress really brought out the olive tones in Kendall’s skin colour.

6)             Alexa Chung

I don’t think I could possibly do this post without mentioning my style icon. Wearing a Thakoon tuxedo she looked stunning. The metallic and sequined detail really make the two piece fit into the futuristic theme. Her hair was slicked back and with the addition of a pair of barely their high heeled sandals she looked perfect.

7)             Rosie Huntington-Whitely

Rosie wore a sheath style white dress by Ralph Lauran. It has a Grecian feel to it with the one shoulder strap and the added material which ran down the side of the dress. On the shoulder strap there was a gold metallic detailing which made it fit to the futuristic theme.

8)             Claire Danes

Claire was every inch of Cinderella on the night. She wore a full ball gown by Zac Posen. It was an incredibly large blue satin dress. But what took my breath away was seeing images of this dress with the lights off. The whole dress lit up and looked so stunning.

9)             Margot Robbie

This woman just rocks my world, she is so stunning. I think she could wear absolutely anything and look perfect. Here she is wearing a Calvin Klein dress. It is a plain white sheath style dress with cut-out details around the waist line. The stark white of the dress really contrasts against her tanned skin colour and makes her look like a goddess!

10)          Taylor Hill

A girl after my own heart here wearing black. This Topshop dress looks so stunning on Taylors petite figure. The halter neck detail really makes this such a stunning dress as it leaves the whole back completely bare. Out of every dress here, this is the only dress I think looks genuinely wearable.

So that is all my favourites for 2016. Never know Anna might notice me over the next year and I might get an invitation. Well, I can keep on dreaming!
