April Favourites

I thought I would start to let you know my monthly favourites. I always love when it comes around to the start of the month to see what people have been loving and it also helps to introduce me to new products. Because I don’t have the guts to film YouTube videos I thought I would go ahead and upload my favourites onto my blog!

April for me was a crazy month. I had a little mental breakdown about my makeup. I didn’t like how it was looking, which lead to a massive tantrum, which resulted in me binning all of my daily makeup and starting again from scratch.

So after my tantrum I had to go out and buy lots of new makeup. Below I have listed the products that I keep going back to again and again and that I just cannot seem to get enough of recently. I have also linked below where I got them from…

1)             Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

I don’t even think that this product needs an introduction. I have been obsessed with this since I got it. The coverage is amazing, there really is no need for concealer when you use this. This glides on the skin really nice and smooth and once set on the skin with a powder it does not budge all day long. I put this on at 3am for an airport run and it lasted all the way to 11pm that night!

2)             MAC Set Powder

I am always on the hunt for a good translucent powder. For me there is something wrong with every single one that I have tried but this one has worked really well for me. Set everything in place and I am good to go for the rest of the day with minimal touch ups. I do notice around my nose where I can get really oily that it can break up a little but it isn’t noticeable to anybody other than myself.

3)             Chanel Vitalumiere Pressed Powder

This is my go to pressed powder. I love it. I have one in my handbag and one on my desk at work because I always have to have one with me. I get shiny around my nose so throughout the day I blot and I like to re-powder. I find that this doesn’t build up and look cakey. It just helps me to control my oil.

4)             MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

This has always been one of my favourite concealer but I have just rediscovered it. I dug it out because I wanted to really brighten up the area under my eyes. I pump a little out onto my pallet and then take my ring finger and just dab it under my eyes, and it is bright and nice and clear. Always been a favourite and I think it always will be!

5)             Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

This product is cheap but truly amazing. I think everybody needs to try this concealer, it is a perfect dupe for the Nars Creamy Concealer and works just as well. I use this for highlighting around the face and it really brightens and blends really well. Best thing I think it was only around £4, win!

6)             Chanel Crème Bronzer

I am starting to build up the bronze since the weather is nicely heating up. I take this on a large powder brush and just go really lightly all over my foundation and it warms it up without looking like a mad woman. I recommend everybody tried this, it is amazing!

7)             Anastasia Brow Gel

Over the past year or so I have been growing my brows out and trying to get them to their natural shape again. I have always had thick brows but now they are big and bold, just how I like them. One quick swipe of this brow gel makes sure all the hairs are where I want them to be. And, this is like super glue, the hairs will not budge a mm!

8)             Anastasia Brow Pomade

On my mission to thicker brows I still have some sparse areas that are slowly but surely getting fuller, but for when I need a little bit of something more I add some of the Anastasia Brow Pomade on an angled brush and gently make small hair like stokes. It looks bomb.

9)             Maybelline Mascara

This is my go to and has been for years. It is waterproof and doesn’t flake or build up. I don’t know what more you could want in a mascara. And for the price it is amazing. I have tried high end mascara and for me I just can’t see a difference other than packaging!

10)          MAC Spice Lip Liner

This is my ‘your lips but better’ colour. I have naturally dark tones skin do this is so perfect. Daily I don’t wear lipstick because I just wear a lip conditioner, but I like to line my lips ever go gently with this, then apply my lip conditioner and blend it together with a lip brush. It then looks well defined but natural.

11)          MAC Velvet Teddy

For times when I do want colour on my lips I go for Velvet Teddy. It is really similar to my natural lip colour. I either go in really, really and then blend it in to my lips with my finger or I go the full hog and apply it really thick for a big matte lip.

12)          Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt

Perfect sent for spring. It smells woody and salty. I know I basically just said it smells like it is called but it is so accurate. It is a fresh scent that isn’t over powering, it is subtle and great for everyday use. And because of the size of the bottle that this is in it is great to just throw in your bag and be on your way!

13)          Batiste Dry Shampoo

This has been my life saver since I got pre-bonded hair extensions. You can’t wash your hair constantly like you would with normal hair so I load my natural hair up with dry shampoo. I never get greasy hair; I am very lucky in that sense. I just apply this to freshen it up and make sure that it always smells clean.

So, there you have my April Favourites. Be sure to keep an eye out for these favourites posts at the start of every month. If you have any comments be sure to leave them below for me and I will get right back to you!
