Maybelline Fit Me Foundation Review

I personally think that everybody needs to have a good drugstore everyday foundation in their makeup collection. As you may know by now from my previous reviews I am a hoarder of sorts for makeup and in particular foundations, so I was thrilled when I tried out this foundation for the first time.

I love to try different high end foundations and I now have far too many than I could ever use. But I also think it is so important to use drugstore brands. Most of the time I have to admit the quality of the product inside the bottle is just as good higher ends, you tend to just pay for the brand names when it comes to higher end foundations.

My go to drugstore foundation has always been the L’Oréal Infallible or True Match. They are both really good foundations which I have been using simultaneously for years. Then this Maybelline Fit Me came out and I immediacy had to get it. People were raving about it all over the internet, on tutorials and on blogs so I got it and I have to say I was very impressed by it.

I went into my local Boots store with the plan to buy this but when I went up to the shelves I noticed that they only carried about 4 different shades which I found baffling. The 4 shades which they did have I would say went from really light skin to a medium tan colour, absolutely nothing for darker skin tones which isn’t fair really.

I picked up the darkest Maybelline Fit Me foundation which if I recall correctly was colour 315. And luckily for me it was the right match. If anything it was a shade or two too dark, but it wasn’t anything too dramatic that couldn’t be corrected with a lighter shade concealer.

I thought I would really give this a fair and honest trial. I used this every day and night for a fortnight and then applied the rest of my makeup like normal on the rest of my face.

I found this Fit Me foundation to be very similar to the YSL Touché Éclat Foundation. The packaging I have to admit does feel cheaper, but you get what you pay for and as long as the product is good, who really cares. Another difference between the two is that the YSL foundation is scented and the Fit Me isn’t, which isn’t a bad thing, just doesn’t make it as luxurious.

I found that it applies really well. I use it with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or the Morphe M439 Round Top Kabuki brush, which seems to work seamlessly. It is a watery texture but not anywhere near as thin as the L’Oréal True Match. It glides over the skin really well and gives a medium but buildable coverage. Two thin layers of this and it will cover everything. I have hyperpigmentation on my cheeks so if I need extra coverage there all I need to do is just put a little product right there.

The price as well the quality of this product is outstanding and perfect for everyday use when I am going to work. I used to wear my higher-end foundations every day to work but now that I have this foundation that I can fully depend on I have been using this one religiously!

I cannot recommend this enough, I think everyone should go and buy it. For an everyday foundation this is the bomb. Just like all of my posts I will link below to where you can buy this product along with anything else mentioned in this post. Please feel free to leave me any comments below and I will get right back to you!
