MAC Matchmaster Foundation Review

This was one of the first foundations that I have ever used. My nan got me this one Christmas, how she knew about what MAC makeup was before I did I have absolutely no idea, but she did and I am grateful for that. I tried it out and I have to say that I really did love it at the time. I was only about 13/14 at the time and I had just been a natural baby face before that. I didn’t feel the need to wear a foundation at all, but once I had started I haven’t stopped since.

Which is ironic to say that now my nan shouts at me for wearing makeup and that my natural beauty is better and she was the one that started me off with it all. Even though I don’t wear it as an everyday foundation now as my Chanel has took that crown I do always keep a bottle in my draw just in case I want to wear it again.

It has a nice coverage, I would say it a medium coverage which is buildable if you want it to be. I would recommend that you allow time for one layer to settle into the skin before applying another to build up the coverage as I found it can move the foundation around.

I also like the texture of this MAC Matchmaster Foundation. I would say that the consistency is somewhere in between MAC Studio Fix Fluid and L’OrĂ©al True Match. It isn’t thick and it isn’t watery either. I think I used this every day for I would say approximately 2 years. I loved it and it is only since I have been wearing other foundations that I have found the negatives in that product.

Such as the colour range for this foundation is quite orange in colour. I have had a few bottles of this over the years and no matter what shade I have bought it has been quite orangey looking, which I don’t think anybody wants!

It also oxidises throughout the day, quite badly. I didn’t notice it before, I think I was looking at it through rose tinted glasses because I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread!

I do like this product and I recommend it to people who are wanting to try out some new foundations that aren’t too heavy.
