MAC Eyeshadows - Woodwinked Mystery Brun Black Tied Carbon Review

I have previously mentioned my top 4 favourite nude eyeshadow shades. But this post is all about my favourite dark toned eyeshadows. As I previously mentioned I don’t do individual eyeshadows. Over the years I bought loads of MAC eyeshadows in individual pots and they just did my head in. You never knew which one you were picking up and I had them all in a big draw and they were so unorganised.

So I arranged everything into a pallet and organised them by the shade and I couldn’t be happier. Organisation makes me happy, how sad. So here are my five dark MAC eyeshadow favourites, Woodwinked, Mystery, Brun, Black Tied and the classic Carbon.

First up is Woodwinked. This is a gorgeous brown shade with gold flecks in. It is an absolutely amazing shade. For years I watched people in YouTube tutorials using it and I always wanted it but for whatever reason I didn’t buy it. But now I have!

I use this shade whenever I go out. It catches the light amazingly because of the gold flecks in it and it is just simply stunning. I recommend this to everyone, it is such a diverse shade that looks good on everyone.

Then there’s Mystery, the world’s most perfect dark brown shade. I use this product in particular for deepening up the crease. I go in with a lighter brown shade such as Cork initially to get the contour line. Then when I know that Cork is well in place I will go in lightly with Mystery to give it more definition.

I also use this shade through my eyebrows. Because I naturally have very dark brown hair I need a similar colour for my eye brows and this works stunningly. I have bought separate brow products like the Anastasia Brow Wiz and Brow Powder but I can never get a shade as close to my hairs as this powder!

Next up is Brun. This is another dark brown shade but to me it seems more ashy in colour than Mystery. I use this more or less every single day, it looks great as a crease colour or just all over the eyelid. I also use it alongside Mystery for my eyebrows, the coolness of this shadow makes sure that my brows don’t look doo thick and dark.

The next one is a recommendation from Kandee Johnson, which is Black Tied. I got his because she used it in a tutorial and Im her biggest fan so of course I bought it to recreate the look! This is a black colour with black and silver glitter throughout it. I am not a glittery person, I favour a more matte look. But for when I want something different I love to apply this over my Seventeen High Drama Liquid Liner and and then smoke it out with my MAC pencil brush. It gives a more dramatic look which is still subtle.

Carbon is last but most certainly not least. Everyone needs a black in their make up collection and this is the blackest black of all time. It isn’t very often that I will reach for a black but when I do I take it on my MAC Pencil Brush and just get the smallest amount and apply it to my crease. Then I will take a 217 with no product on to blend it out.
