Foxy Locks Hair Extensions Review

Everybody that knows me, knows that I am crazy about hair. I once got stopped by a little girl in the street who told me I had hair like a brown-haired Rapunzel from Tangled, and I still to this day think that was the best day of my life. Who doesn’t want to be compared to a princess?

I have always had very long hair. It grows like wildfire. I could have it cut to my shoulders in January then by December it is to my hips. I have always loved long hair and always had it. Except one year when I was 15 and I thought I would cut it all off. My dad begrudgingly took me to the hairdressers to have the chop. He thought I would chicken out at the last minute, but I didn't. I had it done, all chopped off. From past my bum into a bob. I momentarily loved it. Then I cried for days and had 2 days off until I could have extensions put in!

I have worn hair extensions pretty much ever since. It is now 6 years on and I have tried so many different, brands, types and lengths of bonded and clip in hair extensions. The thing with my hair is that it is very thin. The longer it gets the thinner it looks, and nobody wants to look like they have rats tails hair. Don’t get me wrong I have a lot of hair, but it can very easily look lifeless when it gets long.

That’s why I wear extensions, not for length but for thickness. I also have curly hair, so I never straighten my hair because I find it too damaging on my hair, so I always curl my extensions.

My recommendation for these hair extensions came from Casey Holmes on YouTube, she had a coupon code which meant you got a free pair of eyelashes as well, which completely sold me. I wonder why that is that something worth £3 for free can convince you to spend £300 on something.

However back to the review… I loved these extensions from the minute I got them. I got 2 packets of the Foxy Locks 280g 24" Luxurious Hair Extensions. I knew I needed 2 packets from when I have previously had pre-bonded hair extensions. For most people 1 packet is more than enough but I have a lot of hair, so I need lots of layers of extensions so they blend in to look natural.

From the picture, you can see the massive difference that the hair extensions make. As well the difference that they make to my confidence is just incredible, small things do matter!

After much trial and error with various brands over the years I have found that hair extensions really show their quality after they are washed for the first time. I have had extensions before that have been perfect for the first few weeks then after the first wash they go dry and start to split, or they retain so much product they go so greasy they are unwearable.

These Foxy Locks extensions however I found to wash like a dream. I took them into the shower with me and just washed them like I would my normal hair. I like to use all L’OrĂ©al products. I don’t know why I think it is just because it works so well on my natural hair.

Then for them to dry I laid them out on a towel on the floor so they were flat in front of the radiator. The best thing to do is let them dry naturally. Normally for all mine to be 100% dry it can take 24/48 hours.

Then I found them to be good to go. Also with previous brands that i have tried i found that after they were washed they would go incredibly frizzy and I would need to sit and attempt to straighten them, but I found that there is no need with these.

  1. Really love this review and the dark brown looks gorgeous! I have the same problem, 280g of 24" would not be enough for me, especially because the luxurious set has only 6 pieces that's not enough to layer through my hair, I usually wear about 400g of hair. These look great on you though and they look so thick. I had foxy locks before, about 2 years ago, mine went dry quite quickly and didn't look this healthy, I think it might be because they were the platinum blonde colour so already heavily processed. You've definitely inspired me to look up foxy locks again in the future though, now I have darker hair.
