Signs You're A Beauty Addict!

I have been in love with makeup for as long as I can possibly remember. It started out with me just playing with my mums and my sisters makeup. Then as I started to go online more and watch YouTube videos and read blogs I knew that I had an issue. Now, I set money aside out of my wage purely for makeup a month, I do that just do I don’t go mad with it and end up spending a fortune.
So, I thought that it would be fun to do a post which shows all of the tell-tale signs that you are a beauty addict much like yours truly. This post is just a little bit of fun and nothing serious, without any more rambling I will jump into the post.
1)    You buy products even though you know they probably won’t work for you and your skin type
When anything new comes out I feel like I have to buy it and try it even though I know that it just isn’t right for my skin. I have an oily skin type but if something new comes out with the words luminous, dewy and glowing in the title I still buy it even though 98% of the time it will make me look like an oil slick and like my face is wet. I am a sucker for anything that is new!

My Go To Everyday Makeup Products

If you have frequented my blog for some time you will know that I own far too much makeup. I buy some pretty much every week and when new things come out I have to try them straight away. I know it is irrational but I guess it just a little part of the hoarder inside of me.
I do hell of a lot of reviews here on my blog and even though I do use vast majority of the products in my collection there is a few items that without fail I will use every day. Most week days I am just in the office at work so I don’t need to go full glam, I just want something that I know will last well on my skin and look nice all day long, so I go back and use the same products pretty much day in day out.
So, I thought I would let you know what my fool proof products are and what I always go back and use because I know that they work well for me. Without any more rambling, I will jump into this post…

My Summer Makeup Essentials

I was sat at my vanity yesterday morning when I was getting ready for work and it clicked to me that I have really switched up my skincare and makeup this year for the summer. I don’t think that this is something that I have ever really done before, but it wasn’t until I looked down at all of the products that I have been using that I realised how much I had switched my routine around completely by accident.
It must have happened as the weather gradually started to get warmer I must have slowly gravitated towards these products. The reason why I wanted to do this post and let you know my summer favourites is because I have really tested out these products and they all work so well for me. Remember that I have an oily complexion, and I wore these products when I was on my little Italian adventure and every single product worked like a dream.
I won’t ramble on anymore and I will jump into it!

Taking A Slight Step Back

You may have already started to notice this about my blog but I have slowly but surely been decreasing the amount of work that I do here on my blog. I got to a point where I just couldn't sustain how much work I have been putting into it, as well as having my new house, my full time job, looking after a puppy and actually taking time to myself to have some kind of a life.

I still love blogging just as much as I did on the first day that I started it. My passion for it has never faltered. There has been periods where I have questioned why I break my back for it and not have any time to myself, but I still love blogging and I am so proud of where my blog is now, two years down the line.

As time goes on and I get busier in my work life and personal life I have been struggling to find the time for my blog. Writing and uploading the posts hasn't seemed to be the problem, it is just everything else that goes with it that is the extra pressure that I am struggling to cope with.

So, as I am sure some of you have noticed I have removed some of my social media outlets, because this is where I felt like my time was being sucked up. I would get in from work and upload posts on Instagram, tweet and promote my latest posts and in the end I just felt like I never had time to myself.

I know that you can queue post for social media, and I did do this for some time, but you have to be active and engage with people to stay relevant and to be honest I just have too much to do before even getting on to this. I don't know if this is a permanent break from Twitter and Instagram, but it is how things are going to be staying for a while anyway.

I just feel like I need to get my head back above water and find a new normal for me before I can agree to taking it back on.

I know that social media is a huge way to get increased growth and people onto your blog. I know that, I preach that working in marketing but I also need to do what is right for me. This way I can still post and stick to my schedule. I can still engage with people here on my blog and have time to check other peoples blogs out. Plus, more importantly I will have time to myself, which is the main reason for all of this.

I felt like when it was Sunday night and I was getting ready for work the next day that I hadn't had a weekend because I had been so busy through it all with my blog.

I don't want this post to sound like I am moaning because I think everybody knows how much I love blogging and my own blog, but I just want some time to myself. And I know that a lot of people are in my situation with hell of a lot on their plate and I really do take my hat off to them. I just want to keep this fun for me and I think this is what I need to do to keep it fun.

I am still going to be replying to posts several times a week and I will always reply to the comments and get back to your guys. I will also be more active on checking out other peoples blogs and getting to know you guys more! Plus, I am always on Pinterest and Tumblr in case you do want to see a little more of me!

Tips for Long Lasting Makeup

I used struggled when I first started wearing makeup to actually get it to last on my skin. It would get halfway through the day and I would look patchy and it would have transferred all over the place. Over the years I have learnt and taught myself ways to make my makeup last longer and stay looking exactly how it was in the morning. I am in no way saying that you have to do these steps, these are just friendly pieces of advice that have helped me out over the years.

Also I want to let you guys know that you don’t have to have high end makeup to have long lasting makeup. It is true that designer makeup is more expensive for a reason because usually they have longer lasting ingredients, at the end of the day, you pay for what you get. But, you can get the same results with drugstore products. You don’t always have to break the bank to have nice looking makeup. So here are my simple steps to a longer lasting look.

Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick vs Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick

I have always been a lover of a good stick foundation. I think it is the appeal of how quick and easy they are to use. You just have to draw it straight onto your face and then blend it with a sponge or a brush and you are good to go with minimal effort needed.

So when there are two products on the market at the same time that are as raved about as both of these products are then I need to try them out and I also need to let you guys know which one my favourite is out of the two.

First up, in this comparison I want to mention how much product you get with both of these foundations. With the Hourglass Vanish Foundation stick you get 7g of product which is quite minimal for a stick foundation. With the Makeup Forever HD Stick Foundation, you get 12.5g, which is near enough double the Hourglass one.

Top 3 Must Have Concealers

I am such a fiend when it comes to concealer. I seem to be collecting them like they are going out of fashion. I own that many now that I am having to bin them because they are close to their use by day and they are nowhere near empty.

But, this blog post is all about my must have concealers. The three that I couldn’t live without. These three concealers are the ones that I am constantly reaching for and I have rebought because I have used them all up.

If I am travelling, these are the products that I make sure that I have in my makeup bag at all times, they hide a multitude of sins and that is why they’re my favourite. So without further rambling I will jump into it…
