Revisited: YSL Touche Eclat Foundation

I can remember years ago seeing this foundation in Boots and being smitten with it. And when I say years ago I literally mean it, I must have only been about 15 and I had to beg my mum and dad to get it me for Christmas. At that time everybody my age was using Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse and my mum and dad were happy buying that at only £5 a pot. I ended up getting my own way after much perseverance.
What I can remember about this foundation mainly is just the scent. It smelt so expensive and luxurious and I think that clouded my judgement. I loved it straight away just because of the smell of it and that is the still that has stuck in my head more than anything else. So, I thought it is about time that I refreshed myself and added into part of my revisited series.
I went into Boots and bought my shade. The first thing I noticed is that they have updated the packaging and that to me screamed that the formula must have changed too, which I think is true, but it isn’t significantly different. I got the shade that I used to get because I can remember it being perfect, I am sure it as BD50 which is a great shade with olive undertones and it never looks orange.

Dior Poison Perfume Review

The Dior Poison Girl Perfume has been on my radar since the other year when it was fresh of the press and it was splashed all over the internet. I feel like all of a sudden, every blogger, vlogger and influencer was walking about Dior Poison Girl and had it splashes all over. It was bloody good marketing, because it made me want it almost immediately, including the silk Dior bomber jackets that some of the women were wearing for the campaign. Anyway, I actually went out and bought one and I really could not be happier with it, so I thought that it was about time that I did a blog post on it.
Luckily for you guys, I already know that this is going to be a relatively short blog post. When it comes to being articulate and trying to describe fragrances, I just cannot do it. I could talk about makeup all day long, but when it comes to scents, I just cannot express myself very well. If something smells good and I like it then I will buy it and it is pretty much case closed for me. Anyway, I will give this a go for the Dior Poison Perfume.
Normally when I buy a fragrance I will always go for the biggest bottle, I just hate buying a 30ml bottle and it is running out after using it around 5 times. But with this, I did only go for the 30ml version. I went shopping with my mum when I bought this and she was surprised that I liked it. She admitted that she liked it, but back when she was younger and the original Dior Poison was released she said that it was really over powering and clung to her skin and clothes and was just far too intense for her.

Revisited: Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation

When I first tried this foundation I didn’t think that I would ever be able to find anything that could beat it. I can remember been sat there in front of my laptop watching a Case Holmes video where she tried this out and I knew that I had to try it. I think I bought it the next day from Harrods online even though it cost me an arm and a leg, but it was love at first sight.
I can remember when I first used it I was completely in love. It covered everything on my skin without any effort at all and I thought that was perfect because I adore full coverage. I hate having to layer foundations to cover everything so something that was as intense as this was right up my street at the time. I can’t say that my tastes are still the same now.
So, I thought what better post for my next revisited post, than this Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation. I had to buy a new bottle because my shade that I had was much too dark, I thought the more tanned the better the other year, again something else that has changed recently!

MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl Review

I have finally got around to trying out the MAC liner in Whirl and I know that I am very late in jumping onto this bandwagon. I don’t know why I put off buying this for so long. I wouldn’t normally dedicate a full post for a simple lip liner, because at the end of the day there isn’t much to them, but with this iconic baby, I knew that I had to let you guys know just how much I love this one, because it really does stand out from all of the others that I have in my collection, and trust me when I say that I have hell of a lot of lip liners in my collection, especially MAC and Charlotte Tilbury ones!
I think what put me off this lip liner for the longest time was the whole craze around Kylie Jenner and it being her favourite. For one, I couldn’t get my hands on it for the longest time because it would always sell out and secondly, I didn’t want people to think I was using it because of the association with the Kardashian and Jenner clan. As you can probably tell, I’m not the biggest fan of that family. I can appreciate how hard they work, they truly are business women and they look impeccable, there is no doubting that, they just aren’t people that I really relate to!
This isn’t going to be an overly long post, because how much can you elongate a post on what is essentially a pencil, but here we go. First thing that I love about this pencil is just the overall colour of it. Whirl lipstick, to me is pretty much a perfect match for my natural lip colour, if anything it is just a touch deeper and this lip liner is just perfection. I would say that the MAC Whirl Lip Liner is just a fraction lighter than the lipstick, which makes it the perfect neutral for me to use on my lips, so I have been reaching for it pretty much every single day that I have been wearing makeup.

Revisited: Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick

The other year when this foundation was just released it was so talked about. Wherever you looked online whether it be on YouTube or in blogs it was just everywhere. To start with I wasn’t really that bothered about trying it out because I didn’t think it would work for me. When I realised that I was the only person in the whole entire world that hadn’t tried it out I knew that I had to give it a go.
I bought it and I loved it straight away. I went through two full sticks of this within a number of weeks which just shows how keen I was on it. I also used it in nearly all of the looks that I created here on my blog and I am sure it was mentioned on about 10 consecutive favourites posts the other year, that just shows my obsession for it.
I would say that for this past year or so this foundation has taken more of a backseat. I think since trying the Hourglass Foundation I have been a little spoilt with the amount of coverage that foundation stick has so I haven’t really wanted to reach for this one and when I have it has just been when I have done a lucky dip in my foundation drawer!

Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise in Bette Review

This review is about something that I have wanted to try for a really long time. These have been on my wish list for months because I have seen them splashed all over the internet, whether it be on blogs or YouTube. Then, I was browsing the House of Fraser website the other week and I saw that these bad boys were in the sale with a couple of pounds off so I decided to go for it and treat myself to a couple. I say treat myself, like I never spend money on makeup, but I am sure that you guys know what I mean. I justify it to myself by saying that they were a bargain but I only got about £1.80 off each one!
I wanted to try these out because I always go for really neutral eye looks. Even if I have an event where I want to look a little more glam for, my makeup never really gets very extravagant, I just always want to go for looks that are timeless and when I look back on photos it isn’t going to be too garish and my toes aren’t going to curl up while I cringe. And, I think things like this can be the pop of something extra that my look is sometimes lacking to make my eye makeup look a little more special compared to my everyday makeup look.
The first one of these that I have been trying out is the Eyes to Mesmerise in the shade Bette. I thought I would start out with this one because it matches the colours that I already use around my eyes because I love neutral and bronze tones and this is a gold shade cream eyeshadow. I will say that when I first got this and I went to start using it I did put off dipping into it because of how stunning it looked in its little pot, I didn’t want to ruin it. It was a similar feeling to when I first got the Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer and that looked really perfect just sat in the pot that it comes in.

Revisited: Chanel Perfection Lumier Foundation

I am sure that the Chanel Perfection Lumier was the first Chanel beauty product that I had ever bought. I can remember going up to the counter in Boots and been terrified. All of the women on the counter looked immaculate and looked down their noses at little 15-year-old me wandering up to their fancy counter. From that day on I have ordered it online because I never want to feel like that while spending my money.
Anyway, horrible experience aside, I fell completely in love with this foundation. I wasn’t sure about it to start with because I thought it would be just be a rubbish foundation that was overpriced because of the brand name that was printed on the bottle. I was wrong and I completely fell for this foundation. I am sure that I used this religiously for years on end without even wanting to try something else out.
This has just been another one of them products that I have used on and off for ages, every now again and again if I dig to the back of my drawer I will try this out but I haven’t used it consistently for a really long time. So, I thought it was about time that I give it another shot for a while.
